Ahobilam: A memorable Trip.

I have been to Ahobilam very recently. First I have gone to Srisailam along with my family and was there for a night. And then we went to Mahanandi and was there for a night. From there we went to Ahobilam. All these three places are in the great Nallamala Forest in Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh. I have already been to Srisailam and Mahanandi so I felt nothing new. But it was first time I went to Ahobilam. The temple was on a hill amidst the wild forest of Nallamala. The wilderness is the most attraction of the site. I experienced an altogether different world. The rocks and Water-falls beside the temple is very suitable for people who long for adventure and trekking. Here I wish to give some information for you to plan your trip to Ahobilam. You can as well visit from there to Mahanandi and Srisailam.

Mahanandi:
Mahanandi is about 20 kms from Nandyala. The place is famous for its holy pond. Irrespective of seasons and drought conditions, the pond retains the same level of water besides supplying water for irrigation. The water is so pure and holy that the stones, coins in the pond are seen to the people standing outside. Most of the people go to Mahanandi to have a holy dip in the pond.

About Ahobilam

Sri Ahobila Matham, one of the most important Sri Vaishnava religious institutions in India, was established by Sri Athivan Satakopan at the instructions of Lord Lakshmi Nrisimha of Ahobilam. In fact, the utsava moorthy of the Malola Nrisimha temple, one of the nine shrines of Ahobilam, is the presiding deity of Sri Ahobila Matham. Sri Malolan accompanies Srimad Azhagiya Singar, the spiritual and titular head of Sri Ahobila Mutham, on his travels. Ahobilam is located in Karnool district of Andhra Pradesh in the hills of the eastern ghats, about 400 KM northwest of Chennai.

The temple consists of nine shrines to Lord Nrisimha located around a 5 KM circle. In addition to the nine shrines, there is a temple for Prahaladavarada Varadhan in the foothills of the mountain. Due to security reasons and the difficulty in performing daily worship, many of the utsava vigrahas of the nine shrines are kept in this temple. Garuda wished for a vision of Lord Nrisimha in the form of the Avathara. To fulfill his wish, the Lord settled in the hills around Ahobilam in the midst of dense forests in nine different forms. For this reason this hill came to be known as Garudadri, Garudachalam, and Garudasailam. Ahobilam is the place where the Lord killed Hiranyakasipu and saved Prahalada. Mahalakshmi took avathar as Chenchulakshmi among the Chenchu, tribal hunters of the hills, and married the Lord.

ATTITUDE IS EVERY THING

A modern psychologist concludes that it is only attitude that makes all difference. It is what and how we think that shapes our future. What we are now is what and how we thought in the past. So, it is neither fate, luck nor some other excuses that we give are responsible for our failure. If our wish is stronger, the chances of failures are little. Here is an interesting presentation to prove how attitude alone is every thing.

Consider this:
If a=1,b=2, c=3, d=4, ……………….. And z=26.
Let us calculate the value of the following things that we feel are important in our life.

Hard Work:-
H+A+R+D+W+O+R+K
8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11=98%
So Hard work scores 98%
Very good, it is proved that Hard work pays.

Knowledge:-
K+N+O+W+L+E+D+G+E
11+14+15+23+12+5+4+7+5=96%
So Knowledge scores 96%
We understand that knowledge is of course is very important.

Love:-
L+O+V+E
12+15+22+5=54%
So Love scores only 54%
Now we are clear that love is after all is not everything in life.

Luck:-
L+U+C+K
12+21+3+11=47%
So Luck scores meagre 47%
We can conclude that it is not Luck alone plays vital role in our life.

Money:-
M+O+N+E+Y
13+15+14+5+25=72%
Money Scores 72%
Money does matter, Yet it is not everything.

Leadership:-
L+E+A+D+E+R+S+H+I+P
12+5+1+4+5+18+19+9+16=89%
Leadership scores 89%
Leadership and power continues to be interesting for politicians.

But of all the six things, that most people say are important in life, not even one thing has managed to score 100%. There should be something else in life that ought to be more important than all these things. What could be that. Let us consider Attitude.

A+T+T+I+T+U+D+E
1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5=100%
Eureka!!!!!!!
Do you now accept that Attitude makes difference and Attitude is everything.

READ AND LAUGH

PROOF OF AGE
A retired gentleman went to the social security office to apply for Social Security. The woman behind the counter asked him for his driver's license to verify his age. He looked in his pockets and realized he had left his wallet at home. He told the woman that he was very sorry but he seemed to have left his wallet at home. "I will have to go home and come back later." The woman says, "Unbutton your shirt." So he opens his shirt revealing curly silver hair. She says, "That silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me" and she processed his Social Security application. When he gets home, the man excitedly tells his wife about his experience at the social security office. She says, "You should have dropped your pants. You might have gotten disability too."

A DOCTOR AND A LAWER
A doctor and a lawyer were talking at a party. Their conversation was constantly interrupted by people describing their ailments and asking the doctor for free medical advice.
After an hour of this, the exasperated doctor asked the lawyer, "What do you do to stop people from asking you for legal advice when you're out of the office?""I give it to them," replied the lawyer, "and then I send them a bill."The doctor was shocked, but agreed to give it a try.
The next day, still feeling slightly guilty, the doctor prepared the bills. When he went to place them in his mailbox, he found a bill from the lawyer.

A POOR SCHOOL TEACHER

A school teacher started his first job at a primary school and was eager to make a good impression on the kids. So, when he noticed a boy standing all by himself during recess, while the other kids were playing a game of soccer, he walked up to him and asked "Are you alright?"
The boy assured him everything was fine and the teacher left it at that. A few minutes later, however, he noticed that the boy was still standing alone and had not joined the other boys.
Deciding to find out what was wrong this time, the teacher approached him again and said, " Hi, are you sure you're not feeling left out? Would you like me to be your friend?"
The boy obviously felt a little embarrassed, but after a little hesitation said, "Maybe". Encouraged by his progress, the teacher asked, "Tell me, why are you standing here alone?"
"Because", the boy said with clear exasperation in his voice. "I am the goalie"
